Welcome to Wanload ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our freight platform, including our website and mobile applications (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not access or use our Service.

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of our Service, including carriers, shippers, brokers, and visitors.
2. Information We Collect
Personal Information You Provide
When you create an account or use our Service, we may collect:
- Full name and contact information (email, phone number, address)
- Company name and business details
- USDOT number and MC number for carrier verification
- Insurance certificate information
- Payment information (securely processed via Stripe)
- Profile photos and document uploads
- Phone number for account verification and communication
Information Collected Automatically
- Device information (type, operating system, unique identifiers)
- IP address and approximate location
- Precise geolocation data (GPS coordinates) collected during active shipment tracking and load matching — this data may be shared with the counterparty (shipper or carrier) during active loads to facilitate real-time delivery visibility
- Usage data (pages visited, features used, time spent)
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies

Essential cookies cannot be disabled — they are required for login, security, and language selection.
We do not currently use any marketing or advertising cookies. If we add them in the future, we will update this policy and request your consent.
Information from Third Parties
We may receive information about you from FMCSA databases for carrier verification, identity verification services, and other users who interact with you on our platform.
Driver and Transportation Data
For carriers and drivers using our platform, we may collect or process:
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) number and classification
- Hours of Service (HOS) data as reported or made available by carriers
- Vehicle identification and equipment information
Driver data may be shared with: (a) shippers during active loads to verify carrier credentials, (b) regulatory agencies when required by law or subpoena, and (c) insurance providers in connection with claims processing. We do not sell driver data to third parties.
Driver credential data is retained for as long as the carrier account is active plus 3 years in compliance with FMCSA record retention requirements (49 CFR 371.3).
3. Payment Information and Financial Data
We take the security of financial information very seriously.
Shipper Payment Information
Shippers who book loads provide payment information including:
- Credit/debit card numbers
- Bank account information for ACH payments
- Billing address
IMPORTANT: Wanload does not store your full credit card numbers or bank account details on our servers. All payment information is securely processed and stored by Stripe, our PCI-DSS compliant payment processor.
Transaction Records
We maintain records of:
- Load booking history and amounts
- Platform fees charged (3% on completed deliveries)
- Payment status and history
Financial Data Retention
Transaction records are retained for 7 years to comply with tax and legal requirements. You may request deletion of non-essential financial data, but we must retain records required by law.
Billing event records (payment attempts, fees charged, account status changes) are retained for a minimum of 7 years in compliance with financial regulations and tax requirements.
Webhook event records used for payment processing deduplication are retained for 30 days and then automatically deleted.
Direct Carrier-Shipper Payments
Wanload facilitates connections between carriers and shippers, but carriers receive payment directly from shippers. We are not responsible for payment disputes between carriers and shippers. Payment terms, methods, and timing are arranged directly between parties.
Payment Security
All payment data is encrypted using industry-standard TLS 1.3 encryption. Stripe maintains PCI-DSS Level 1 compliance, the highest level of payment security certification.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and improve our load matching services
- Verify carrier credentials through FMCSA
- Process payments and maintain billing records
- Enable real-time shipment tracking
- Facilitate communication between carriers and shippers
- Prevent fraud and ensure platform security
- Comply with legal obligations
- Analyze usage patterns to improve our Service
- Send you important updates and notifications
5. Information Sharing
WE DO NOT SELL YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO THIRD PARTIES FOR MARKETING PURPOSES.
With Other Users
When you use our platform:
- Carriers and shippers can see each other's business information when matching on loads
- Contact information is shared to facilitate load coordination
- Each party is responsible for how they use shared information
- We are not liable for how other users use or share your information
With Service Providers
We share information with trusted service providers who help us operate our platform, including Stripe for payment processing, cloud hosting providers, analytics services, and FMCSA for carrier verification. All service providers, carriers, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers are contractually restricted from using platform data for any purpose other than the specific service being provided. These contracts prohibit the resale, redistribution, or repurposing of any user data obtained through the Wanload platform.
For Legal Reasons
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights, to respond to legal process, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
6. FMCSA Verification
For carriers, we verify:
- USDOT number and operating authority status through FMCSA databases
- Insurance coverage meets federal requirements
- Business identity matches FMCSA records
THIS VERIFICATION IS NOT A GUARANTEE OF ANY CARRIER'S RELIABILITY, SAFETY RECORD, OR PERFORMANCE. SHIPPERS SHOULD CONDUCT THEIR OWN DUE DILIGENCE.
7. Location Data
With your explicit permission, we collect GPS location data to enable real-time shipment tracking. This location data is shared with shippers only during active deliveries and only when you have enabled location sharing.
You can disable location tracking at any time through your device settings or the app, though this may limit your ability to use certain features.
8. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit and at rest
- Secure payment processing through Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant)
- Regular security audits and updates
- Access controls and authentication requirements
- Employee training on data protection
HOWEVER, NO METHOD OF TRANSMISSION OVER THE INTERNET OR ELECTRONIC STORAGE IS 100% SECURE. WE CANNOT GUARANTEE ABSOLUTE SECURITY.
We encourage you to:
- Use a strong, unique password for your account
- Enable two-factor authentication when available
- Never share your login credentials with others
- Log out of your account when using shared devices
- Report any suspicious activity immediately
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal information
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate information
- Deletion: Request deletion of your information (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Opt-Out: Opt out of marketing communications
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format
- Location: Disable location tracking through your device settings

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

- Commercial information: Load history, transaction records
- Professional information: Business details, carrier credentials
- Geolocation data: GPS location during active deliveries
- Internet activity: Usage data, browsing history on our Service

Data Retention Periods
We retain each category of personal information for the following periods:
- Identifiers (name, email, phone, address): Retained while your account is active, plus 1 year after account deletion
- Commercial information (load history, transactions): 7 years to comply with tax and legal requirements
- Professional information (business details, carrier credentials): Retained while your account is active, plus 1 year after account deletion
- Geolocation data (GPS location): 90 days after delivery completion
- Internet activity (usage data, browsing history): 12 months from date of collection
- Inferences (derived preferences): Deleted when the source data from which they were derived is deleted
Sensitive Personal Information
Under the CPRA, certain categories of personal information are considered "sensitive." Wanload collects the following sensitive personal information:
- Precise geolocation data — collected only during active deliveries with your explicit permission
- Financial account information — processed securely through Stripe; we do not store full card or bank account numbers
You have the right to limit the use of your sensitive personal information. To limit the use of your sensitive personal information:
- Disable location tracking at any time through your device settings or in the app
- Email privacy@wanload.com with the subject line "Limit Sensitive PI"
- Submit a request through our Do Not Sell page
Please note that limiting the use of geolocation data may affect your ability to use real-time shipment tracking features.
Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. We currently do not respond to DNT browser signals because there is no industry-wide standard for how to interpret them. However, we do honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we will automatically treat it as a valid opt-out request for the sale or sharing of your personal information. You can also opt out at any time through our Do Not Sell page.
Non-Discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA/CPRA rights. You will continue to receive the same quality of service, pricing, and access to all platform features regardless of whether you exercise your privacy rights.

We will respond to verifiable requests within 45 days.
We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.
11. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- We are not responsible for unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
- We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from your use of the Service
- We are not responsible for data breaches caused by third parties or circumstances beyond our reasonable control
- We are not liable for how other users use information shared on the platform
- We are not responsible for inaccuracies in FMCSA or other third-party data
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
BY USING OUR SERVICE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND ACCEPT THESE LIMITATIONS.
12. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not intended for children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.
13. International Users
Our Service is primarily intended for use in the United States. If you access our Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of our Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
